Thu Jan 10th: Ms. Aikasha is wearing an original Ms. Aikasha purple/lavender printed long sleeved hooded maxi dress, Perry Ellis brown shearling ‘moto’ jacket, Martinez Valero lavender suede MaryJane pumps, Latico large brown/beige leather bag and Mazzini light green shearling cross body bag. A natural amethyst necklace and 22 karat gold earrings accessorized today’s ‘bohemian’ look.

I really felt like the bag lady today. I had to bring shoes to the cobblers for repair and this Latico bag is my 'go to' overnight/weekender/"toss all my stuff in, and still look cool" bag. Since it was so stuffed with shoes, I put my wallet, etc, into the Mazzini cross body......it worked!

Tip: When wearing dresses in the winter, unless its wool or cashmere, it might not seem so practical - which is why so many opt for trousers/jeans. I recommend either a slip or a slimmer as an undetectable added layer under the dress, so you can be feminine, yet still warm in the winter.

Note: The sleeves on this dress are ridiculously long..........I'm going to shorten them!!

Wed Jan 9th: Ms. Aikasha is wearing a Derek Heart black rayon ‘hole’ front turtleneck sweater, Younique blue double breasted (in this case double waisted) high waist jeans, Identify cream leather jacket with portrait collar, Patrizia Pepe black suede d’orsay pumps with silver ‘rocker’ studs, and her black suede Gucci handbag. Accessories include small pearl and silver earrings, and a mother of pearl pendant necklace.

Seems as if everyone’s catching the flu – and I’m trying so hard not to. Begin vegetarian, health conscious, holistic, and the whole nine, I don’t get the flu shot and have been blessed and fortunate enough to have avoided getting sick for the past 10 years or so – and quite honestly, I just wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I did get sick. I guess I better keep doing what I’ve been doing………….. :)

Tip: High waist pants are very flattering on certain body types - usually a medium to long torso wears it well. I suggest wearing a close fitting sweater/top with the high waist pants or skirt for a cleaner silhouette.

Finally! I’m Back!!  My IT guy is absolutely incredible and helps me whenever I need him. So, I’ve got Mozilla Fox up and running on my laptop, and I’m back on the blog scene.Since I have quite a few posts, I’ll take it easy on you and just do two at a time until I’m all caught up.

This is NOT a 'booty' shot - I'm showing the bow/zipper detail on the jeans

Tue Jan 8th: Ms. Aikasha is wearing a Michael Kors red down vest, Forever 21  brown rayon double breasted blazer, Moda International for Victoria Secrets white cotton French cuffed button down shirt, Energie white long sleeved sheer  t-shirt, dark blue jeans with zipper and bow detail, Michael Kors pale pink leather handbag and Via Spiga light grey lizard pointy pumps. A silk variegated brown/black/grey silk scarf, Coach black leather gloves, and pearl and gold shoulder duster earrings accessorized  cool, sophisticated, yet laid back look.

Tip: A down vest is invaluable and so versatile. You get the warmth of a down coat without the bulk. Wearing double layers ie: shirt/blazer or shirt/sweater - compensates for the sleeves - and looks really 'ca-yute'!!

Note: Since it's the beginning of the year and folks are gradually getting into the 'swing of things', my dress style will be a bit more casual - likely through the end of the month.
Mon Jan 7th: Ms. Aikasha is wearing Rachelle the original Leather Store long black leather jacket, Premise Studio black and silver striped rayon turtleneck ribbed sweater, a black pin striped wool blend pleated mini skirt with lace hem (I added the lace) – made in Italy, brand unknown, BCBG black suede/leather peep toe booties and Coach limited edition gold leather tote. A large Veda red pashmina scarf/shawl, large gold/silver tone filagree earrings, 14 carat gold rope chain necklace, and Cynthia Rowley black fishnet hosiery accessorized today’s look.

Notice how the 'self belt' is tied as a tie? It picks up on the 'masculine' pinstripe. I guess a bow would've been a nice contrast too!

Tip: Don't always go with the obvious. The silver sweater stripes doesn't mean the jewelry should also only be silver. Play with the metals: gold, silver, copper, bronze..........have fun with it!
Tip II: Horizontal stripes "DO" make you look wider! It's optical, but very relevant, so be mindful.

We had dinner at Trattoria Rustica in Montclair, NJ, to celebrate Nyasho's 23rd birthday

Happy New Year!!
Oh My Goodness!!….it’s been two weeks since my last post, and not for lack of trying. Granted, I don’t post much while vacationing (staycationing in this instance), but I’ve been struggling with a technical issue since last week, and this time it’s not because of my lack of knowledge. Seemingly, Google’s ‘Blogger’ is experiencing difficulty with picture uploads from Internet Explorer users – and guess who’s a user?? So, I’m patiently awaiting the ‘repair’ and as soon as it's up and running again, I assure you, you’ll be inundated with photos of my outfit’s over the past weeksJ.
